HAWKEYE SECURITY DOES IT AGAIN: TWO CABLE THEFT SUSPECTS APPREHENDED IN MIDRANDMidrand, Gauteng – 14 July 2026Hawkeye Security Solutions is proud to announce another successful operation by its Armed Response Division in the ongoing fight against infrastructure crime.During the early hours of 14 July 2026, at approximately 04:00, Hawkeye Armed Response Officers were conducting routine patrols in the Boulders area of Midrand when they observed three male suspects allegedly digging up and removing underground cable.Upon identifying the suspicious activity, our officers immediately responded, causing the suspects to flee the scene. A foot pursuit ensued, resulting in the successful apprehension of two suspects, while one suspect managed to evade arrest.The arrested suspects were found in possession of stolen cable and specialised cable theft equipment, believed to have been used in the commission of the crime. The suspects were safely restrained while Midrand SAPS was contacted and responded to the scene, where the suspects and recovered evidence were handed over for further investigation and criminal prosecution.This successful operation once again demonstrates Hawkeye Security’s commitment to protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring the safety of the communities we serve.Infrastructure theft, particularly cable theft, has a devastating impact on businesses, essential services, and residents.
